The Great Wall of Words is a brilliant word game with an engaging storyline, set along the Great Wall of China, where you are given a daring mission to accomplish. The pass of time has weakened some sections of the Great Wall, and your enemies may take advantage of this. Your task, as the chief architect of the Emperor, will be to repair these sections of the wall to prevent the Mongol Tribes' invasion.
Your epic journey starts at the Toll Bridge and extends over a number of other locations where the wall's sections need repairing. To do so, you have to form words by clicking on adjacent tiles, the longer the word, the better. There are three game modes available and all of them are really enjoyable: the first one is Classic, and to advance, you need to reveal the stone pathway on your left side while preventing the explosives put by the mongols to burn down. The Battle mode takes you to the heart of a battle, where your task is to push the mongols back, and not let them gain ground. Finally, the Contest mode challenges you to take control of the board, by turning all the golden tiles red.
Along the game, you will find lots of helpful bonus items and power-ups, like the Special tiles, Bomb tiles, Gold coin, and many others, which will give you extra time or points according to the mode you are playing.
The Great Wall of Words is just great. It combines superb graphics, animations, and music with excellent gameplay and an appealing storyline. It`s one of the best word games I've ever played. |
